Oh, Harry and Hermione definitely love each other, there's no question.  It's just how far does that go, you know?  It's really heart-breaking to think about it.

When they connect with each other (either bickering or moments like in Herbology class) they completely lose sight of everything else. I can see them breaking the bed and not even noticing or caring.
