You have a very active imagination. The curse, the poem, the way the are all working together is really good. I am concerned about Draco, one does not walk away from Voldemort that easily. Bad things are bound to happen to my favourite character. Glad he made the right choice. Since Hermione has chosen Ron (I am shaking my head) couldn't you find him someone he could love? Just asking. Good job with Snape, saying a lot while at the same time saying very little. (I am talking about previous chapters) I shall wait patiently for the next chapter.

Author's Response: Dear Elena, Thank you for the lovely compliment.  This story took a lot of time and effort and I hope it all comes together in the end.   (Fingers crossed).  I'm sort of holding my breath for the reviews at the end...hoping I'm not tarred and feathered.  I had to respond because I love your comment about finding someone for Draco.  You're reading my mind...that's a tease...just wait a bit longer!  Also, thanks for the Snape comments.  I loved writing him that way and you're exactly right...I wanted the reader to draw their own conclusions based on Snape's statements...just like I thought Draco would.  I think that is what makes Snape a great "double agent" - his ability to tell you everything and really tell you nothing at the same time.  He's never lying!

So Draco's love interest is a fourteen year old. All of a sudden it reminded me of the Twilight series and Jacob smitten with a newborn. I know this is totally different. This must be some girl! At that age their maturity is questionable but I trust you with my favourite character in your whole story.

Author's Response: Elena, Let's put it this way, 1) she's part veela, hence very attractive, 2) she's French which makes her more attractive in Draco's eyes because she appears cultured, 3) she's a girl, which automatically matures her a couple of years.  So, I'd say it's more like a 16 year old and a 19 year old, 4) Draco knows the age difference and is clearly not pushing the envelope.  I could really picture Draco's eye twinkling at this beautiful young French blonde girl, even if he has to do a bit of old fashioned courting for a couple of years.  I have two teenage daughters who both think that it's not even worth going on a date unless the guy is at least seventeen because they are all so immature.  So, 5) I would think that Gabrielle might find Draco as a refreshing breath of air, mature, but still a teen.  So, those are my thoughts.  Thanks for the review, I appreciate the opinion.  I wouldn't say this is quite Twilight, this is only a 5 year spread.  Heck, my husband of twenty plus years is five years older than me and he met me when I was a teen.  Glad you trust me!  I'll try not to lead you astray!!  Hee hee.

I don't know how did you come up with the poem, the curses, the clues, the whole thing in general. I envy you. Must be fun having such an active imagination.  Draco and Ron together protecting Harry, good twist!

And so it ends. I could see the images right in front of my eyes, like a movie.  Well done! What else can I write.  The description of the crumbling building, of Ginny about to fall to her death. Hermione's wheels turning in her head in spite of her fears and injuries.  The mayhem around them all.  Harry's amazing display of power and how Ginny's voice tamed that almost out of control rage and new found strength. I can picture that so vividly.  It was fun to read because, you the writer, have an amazing talent. Sadly I had to accept Draco not getting the girl but I now know this is the wrong site for those kind of stories.  Thanks again for this story.

I like it. That abhorrent epilogue in DH has opened the door to many, wonderful interpretations of the events after Voldemort's defeat.  It is fair to assume that Death Eaters wouldn't just give up the fight.  Revenge from both sides was to be expected.  As you so well described Harry, Ron and Hermione went through hell and I am glad you are exploring that too.  Anyway,  waiting for next update.

I am having a hard time understanding why Harry needs to be in the Shadows, he is totally useless and no friend to Hermione. He hasn't made any effort in having a real conversation with her. Other than acting like a total moron what exactly is he bringing to table?

 My other issue is the Shadows. Surely undercover agents can go back to their famiies once their mission is over. 

 Hermione's walls are coming down, albeit very slowly which is a realistic approach. For the first time I'm reading your fic in daylight. Eight o'clock in the morning, nice! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Until your next update.

Hello Elena!

  I keep Harry around totally for selfish reasons. Look for more bedlam with him being partnered with Flannigan. I also might try and make him more useful as I really should give the poor guy a break, eh? *giggles* 

  As for the creation of the Shadows, it was my intention to try and give Hermione a way out. Problem for her, is that her plan backfired when Ron and Harry applied to be Shadows too. I kind liked the idea of a super secret kind of dark society of wizards. (yeah, I know-I'm weird) I'm actually kind of excited to write the chapters where they are undercover. I have something in mind, but I honestly never know what's to come myself as I detest outlines and just write what comes to me at the time.

  I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!!! You are an absolute delight and I simply adore you. And I MUST use your name in one of my fics. Elena just sounds so cool to me. *hugs you*

'The only one to truly save Hermione was Hermione herself' First smart thing Harry said in 23 chapters. I really, really don't like this Harry. He doesn't have the sensibility or insight or the closeness he used to have with Hermione in the books. I know he signed to be part of the Shadows to be close to her and help her but frankly, the way he acts or the things he says doesn't feel real to me. Except this last sentence.

Your Ginny, on the other hand, I do enjoy. 

Ron and Harry are on their own. Hermione is going to excel in the training and David should get what he deserves soon. Well, I made it past ten o'clock but tomorrow it's going to be a long day. Great fic!

My dear Elena!

  Yes, this Harry is not at all like the Harry from the books. I have a confession to make and that is I have a hard time writing the character of Harry.  So, I decided to just do something outrageous and make him totally ridiculous. I have actually come to enjoy making him be a bit of comic relief. JKR would probably burn me at the stake for sure!!! *laughs* (Bless her!) 

  I'm positively tickled that you liked my Ginny. I also have a hard time writing her. For this story, I wanted her to be fiery and fierce when she needed to be. I sort of used the Ginny parts from the books that showed that side of her.

  I really hope you'll enjoy the next chapters. Thank you so much for being so incredibly kind. After such a crappy day at work, your reviews made me smile and I can't thank you enough for that! *hugs you tight*

Okay, I am having a very hard time with Ron pushing Hermione, invading her space, coming to her rescue, playing the bloody boyfriend when at the end all he has accomplished is aggravate her even more. You might feel your Harry is out of the character but Ron is just as oblivious, immature and thick headed as in the books. He is missing the point in my opinion. Hermione doesn't need to be rescued from horny, stupid men! She can do that on her own as she proved in this chapter.  I am not psychologist but I'm sure there is a better way to deal with Hermione than the same old, same old.
