Started reading fanfiction because of my daughter and my disappointment with DH (its epilogue) and it became a hobby. I like to explore the 'what ifs' in fandom.

A hopeless romantic. Favourite pairings, Hermione/Draco, Ginny/Draco, Harry/Ginny, Hermione/Bill.

Love it, love it! You go Hermione! Double standards infuriate me. How dare Ron get angry or question her actions when he himself is a cheating bastard! On the other hand it must be so hard for Hermione to keep the mask on all the time when the pain is so raw. I am enjoying your fic more and more,

Author's Response:

Awwww Elena! *hugs you tight*

Thank you for the lovely comments. Yes-Ron really can't try and be the high and mighty one when he hasn't exactly been an angel himself. And our poor girl has buried so many emotions deep down inside of her, that she is but a shell of her former self. Will she ever be who she once was? You know, I don't think she ever really could go entirely back because she has so much that she regrets now. (but won't admit) *winks*

Much love!

Not a fan of the Hermione/ Ron pairing but the first chapter caught my attention and so here I am.  Hermione is broken as you first chapter implied and it breaks my heart to see her so despondent and jaded. Ron, right now is not my favourite character: cheating husbands, regardless of their situation are cowards in my opinion. I liked what I read so far, and glad to have found your fic,

Author's Response:

Well Hello Dear Elena!

How absolutely sweet of you to leave a review. This is a total crazy train kind of story where basically anything goes. Ron and Hermione have both made some major mistakes that will not be easy for either of them to rectify. I wanted to do a story about a damaged Hermione and sort have just went with it. I hope you'll enjoy the rest of the story and thank you for your kindness!!! *hugs*

Much love!

Sorry, couldn't stay away from your writing. Lovely moment. Good to know how their first encounter happened.  For some strange reason when I go into your profile, or everybody's profile, other than the stories you've written I can't see your favourites fics. I have tried using three browsers and nothing. Anyway, two of three kids are out. I can listen to my music and enjoy my computer.

Author's Response:

Ha! Ha! Elena you always seem to have the power to make me smile! (LOVE that) That is weird that none of authors' favorite stories show up. I do like anything written by Redblaze/Bluerain and rosepddle. There is also an excellent story by Solstice that I loved. I can't think of the friggin name of the story. Unfortunately, I believe she removed all of her stories. (damn)

Enjoy your time alone! I was cleaning today while my daughter was out. Then I watched Wild Target. (I thought it was a great movie) Next, I decided to cook my husband up something fancy because I had the time. Now I'm going to relax!!!

Thank you for the review. This was a time when things were happier between them and I think Hermione thought it would always be that way. *sighs*

I hope the rest of your weekend is wonderful!!!

Much love!

PS Are you from England? Just curious, dear. (>:

This looks promising. I am not a great fan of Hermione and Ron as a couple in fact I try to avoid reading stories about them but I will give yours a chance because this first chapter felt real, something that could have happened once the dust settled after the final battle. Adding it to my favourites.

Author's Response: Dear eterna, I truly hope that you DO enjoy this, but I must warn you that it is a strong Ron/Hermione story.  However, I think it is more about Hermione's journey and her examination of life and humanity.  I guess you'll have to decide if you like it as it goes.  Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, their opinions and viewpoints and, of course, each author has the ability to take a bit of 'poetic license' in determining all the facets of a characters life that weren't put in print by JKR.  I just want you to be aware that I do follow canon - but it's the journey between that final battle and the '19 Years Later' that gives us all the possibilities of fiction.  Please let me know what you think, even if it's not your favorite pairing.  Thank you for the challenge!

As I mentioned before Ron/Hermione not my favourite couple but your is pulling me in more and more.  Now, Diane, I don't like her  one bit but the one that really scares  me is John.  Was 'the accident'  more like John hurting Hermione on purpose?  He is too creepy and Hermione too trusting.  Why is John so interested in what Hermione's magic is capable of?  If he lays a hand on her I hope Hermione hexes him to point of no recognition.

I really like what you are doing with Ron and Hermione.  Their feelings, their doubts, their regrets.  Well done!  I am enjoying your story a lot.

Author's Response: Dear eterna, Well, now I am on a mission to pull you in and keep you!!  Poor Diane, what has she ever done to you? <grin> and then there's our charming Mr. John.  You'll have to read some more about him and come to your own conclusions.  I eagerly await your opinion in forthcoming chapters!  Take care.

I have an idea of who the crazed inmate is but rather than speculating I will wait for the rest of the story to give me the answer.  Congratulations, you are amazing at describing what is going through their minds.  Is like you paint pictures, much like an artist of feelings and emotions only you use words.  Not being a Ron/Hermione shipper or fan I can oficially say I am sticking to your story because now I am really curious.  I wonder if our inmate is going to escape all the way to Budapest. Thanks  for updating your story.  Great job!

Author's Response: Dear Elena, What a sweet compliment!  I'm blushing all over!  I feel honored to have pulled in someone who doesn't usually read Ron/Hermione.  I hope to make you a believer!  Thanks again.

Very good chapter. I was wondering when would you update this story.  The inmate's inner thoughts, his scheming and his escape, all described well.  My heart was beating fast as the crazed man broke out.  But what makes my heart bit even faster is John.  I am a Hermione Granger's fan. The Hermione Granger I learned to respect and admire up to DH and HBP so having John around because she is lonely, frankly, annoys me.  John is a dangerous creature and she is having more patience with him than she ever showed Ron but... it may be too early in the story and may be jumping to the wrong conclusions.   The end of the chapter, brilliant! Cliffhangers are not my cup of tea but in this case it wasn't so bad.  Between a man set on revenge, a maniac, and John  you have me in pin and needles.  Congratulations! Thanks for the update, hope the next chapters comes soon.

Author's Response: Elena, I think you're starting to see that John isn't quite what he seems, but despite Hermione's suspicions, she's being tolerant for a day or two until he gets a place.  After all, she'll be at work most of the time anyway...well, that is until this all happened.  Glad you like my crazy inmate.

Al last! I have been waiting for an update forever. And I do understand about job, kids and other, I am the same.

You have asking all sorts of questions. Who cursed Hermione? Was it the mysterious, dangerous, inmate? Is it possible that John is more than a simple Muggle?(I despised the man and he has done nothing yet)

I am trying to walk in Hermione's shoes. What came to mind was something very simple. If I were to be dropped in the middle of the Amazon jungle and had to survive as the natives do, well, I will be pretty much dead within minutes or hours.  There is no difference in anatomy or body functions between natives and I yet, they have abilities I don't have.

It is a simplistic analogy and I am just rambling.

Hermione's feelings about being 'equal' to John were brilliant and I understand why she feels the way she does. It has nothing to do with being a snob. Well done!

I know this site is bias when it comes to Hermione and Ron but as I reading that part of your story I thought that JK did exactly the same to Hermione so that she would end up with Ron at the end.

No I have not been persuaded and I hope you don't mind my voicing my opinion about it.

I am certainly enjoying the plot of this story as well as Fate of the Generations, although I must say I like this one better.

Gone long enough. Thanks for the update.

Author's Response: Elena, I'm smiling all the way through this review!  I LOVE hearing your comments and they're right on the mark.  It's so nice when the readers understand what I'm trying to say.  When they don't, I feel like I've somehow failed in my job to relay the plot properly.  You like this better than Fate, huh?  That's okay with me.  I wrote Fate several years ago and I would like to think that my writing has improved in the interim so I hope that this will be even better (but I hope you finish Fates, too!!)  Take care and I'll try to get more out as soon as I can.

Thank you so very much for this wonderful Christmas gift: an update! Congratulations about the conclusion of Fate of The Generations.

I like this one better. Stories are like people we encounter. Some you like as soon as you lay eyes on them, others you don't really know but are willing to give try and see if there is a connection and some: one look, one word and...nothing; you close the file on them as soon as you opened it.  Fate of The Generations took a while with me because I really, really can't warm up to the pairing of Ron and Hermione. I know you are mature enough not to take personally.

With this story though as soon as I started reading it I was caught by the suspense and the many unanswered questions and yes I liked how you were dealing with Ron and Hermione mostly Hermione.

Now, back to the this chapter. I liked it and of course you left me once again with more questions than answers.

John is the biggest thorn on my side and I am surprised Ron reacted the way he did when tried to see Hermione and John stopped him at the door.  Does John has to do with Hermione's condition?

Ron did react as expected with his lack of self-esteem as he learned who John was. I'll won't say anymore. This site has taught me to thread carefully when going against Ron.

One thing that keeps bugging me is Hermione's arm. I have not gone back and read previous chapters but... didn't she complained about pain in her arm before?

The crazed inmate has me worried but not so Hermione's lack of magic. My heroine is much more than what magic can give her. She is first and foremost a human being.  I hope she sees this as an opportunity of sorts. After all haven't we seen what we human beings are capable of. Those who can't walk, see, speak find ways to rise above expectations. We have examples galore.

Anyway, you can tell I like your story in spite of the pairing. You are a talented writer. Many blessings to you and your family.

Author's Response: Dearest Elena, How lovely to hear from you again!  Everyone has a right to their own opinions and not everyone loves the R/Hr pairing, but I do.  I always follow canon, believing that what JKR wrote is how it's supposed to be.  I'm glad you're enjoying this one.  I had the idea a long time ago and it's just been mulling around in my head while I worked on Fates and I finally started outlining it this past spring and summer.  I love your questions and the comments about Hermione.  They are exactly what I would expect my readers to think.  I guess you've confirmed my own suspicions.  Despite the pairing, I hope you'll keep reading.  There's lots to come.  Take care and Happy New Year!

Muggle, squib, pure-blood, half-blood, one thing they all share is their humanity. As much as I understand Hermione's feelings of inadequacy and her anguish after losing her magic powers; once she gets her act together, I'm sure she'll welcome her humanity back and use it to regain her magical powers.

Now, to the bane of my existence: John. Abuse of any sort makes me see red and having one of my favourite heroines succumbing to it will really annoy me.  John is playing all the right keys when it comes to Hermione's state of mind, then again wife/partners abusers are very good at nurturing weaknesses and lack of self esteem in their 'loved ones'.

My wish is that Hermione's stubbornnes conquers her fears and forces her to fight and her first objective should be getting rid of psycho John as soon as possible, change the locks or better still move to an undisclosed location.

Excellent chapter. My heart was pounding as John came into the room after Hermione took her shower. Good job! Thanks for the update.

Author's Response: Dear eterna - You really said it when you mentioned how abusers can use such gile in degrading their victims, making them feel worthless and unwanted, but keeping their reign on them just tight enough so they don't run.  They feel like no one wants them and hence they have to stay.  I'm glad you've recognized John's modis operandi.  My heart was pounding in that scene as well.  I could really picture it, him walking closer, slowly and her not knowing what he's going to do.  I'm glad I was able to transfer that image to you!  Thanks again, Elena.

The title of your chapter gave me food for thought. Is Jack, John's father? That would explain a lot. So John may not be as ignorant about magic nor is he unfamiliar with the Dark Arts. Is there a connection between Arty's family and the crazy patient now on the run? Is it Arty's father or close relative?  A muggle coming in contact with magic through Death Eaters and then is fixated in becoming a wizard through experimentation... Brilliant twist!

Things for Hermione will only get much more complicated, horrible actually. If Harry, Ginny or Ron don't do something drastic I think my heroine is in for a very rough ride. But I have faith in Hermione, she'll snap out of it and kick John's demented behind.

Thank you so much for the update. Well done! I look forward for more.

Author's Response: Dear eterna - You're on the right track, but I don't want to give it away.  I know, I know, I'm such a tease!!  I'll tell you this...there are definite connections.  If not, I wouldn't have put that little piece in there.  I'm glad you like the twist!  This is truly an angsty story for Hermione and for me in writing it.  I need to take a break every now and then because it gets so depressing!  haha.  Thanks again SO SO much for your lovely comments.  I look forward to hearing from you more in the future.

I was up early this morning reading my few emails when the first message that caught my eye was an update of my favourite story at The Pitch. I had to read it otherwise I wouldn't be able to concentrate at work.

As soon as Ginny escorted 'creepy John' out of Hermione's room I knew he would be back. How could Harry and Ron be so naive and leave?  When is Hermione going to start taking control of her life, get over her panic and get back to the heroine I so admire? This is a smart woman we are talking about here, smart, brave and certainly not a quitter.  Hermione is a very inquisitive person, she is not asking questions, why?  I know she is being manipulated by John but somehow I thought she would eventually start wondering about his weird behaviour.  And wouldn't she be the first one to get to work and try to find a cure for her sickness?

Sorry, I'm just a bit frustrated with my heroine.

I have the feeling that Carrow, John, the manufactured disease, Hermione's illness are all related. Amazing plot! Thanks for the update; wish I could write some more but got to run to my little ones (kindergarten class)

Many thanks for the update again. Be well.

Author's Response: Elena, You make me blush!  Thank you so much!  I know it's a little frustrating, but keep in mind that Hermione is really sick right now.  If she could just get one good day, she'd probably have it out with John, but she just isn't capable at the moment.  She needs a champion.  I wonder who might rise to the challenge.  We need to get her well first and hopefully let others see through John's charade.  Have fun with the kindergartners!  Take care.

It was worth the wait so thank you for the update! Diane is nothing more than an empty headed, oblivious, stupid, woman, is she? I mean, she is not going to transform into a stalker or maybe something even more evil? I am inclined to think of her as a manipulative b*!# and unless Ron does something drastic she is going to be as much trouble for him as John is for Hermione.  By the way, I didn't review the previous chapter  having missed the email informing me of the update. I read along with this one.  My apologies.

Where is John? Is he involved with the events in the lab Ron and Harry were investigating? What about the box in the mayor's house? Frankly this is what keeps me interested.

What an amazing cure for Hermione! You are one smart writer. Anyway, I shall wait patiently for the next chapter. Thanks for the update, again.

Author's Response: Elena - Yes, I'm not sure what happened, but when I posted the last chapter, it didn't send out the reminders.  My PC is low on memory so that could have something to do with it.  I got very few reviews so I thought most people didn't know about it, but glad you caught on and read them both.  It gets so exciting when I'm writing and suddenly all the puzzle pieces just fit.  Even the ones I hadn't originally planned seem to fall into place.  It's so much fun!  Glad you're enjoying it, too!  More in about 2 weeks, maybe a bit sooner.  Hang tight!
