What an exquisite ficlet; you capture their anger, frustration, and how it simmers into needy passion in manner truly captivating. I can't help but be hopeful and happy for them at the end.

Another delightful, heartwarmingly satisfying story. These two make a  very believable pair; I'm glad that you kept Charlie in his funk and somewhat self-absorbed, as it seemed very apropos. If only the men in my life were as thoughtful as these two were toward each other at the end! Their intimacies were sexy, too. :)

What a beautiful story, from beginning to end. Your pacing and buildup were perfectly timed, and your conveying of Harry's teen angst and wallowing was spot on. You seem to have such a firm grasp on Harry's character, as well as Ron. Reading of Harry's fully-discovered, complex and abiding love for his best mate was a joy. Thank you for writing and sharing!

This was a warm, refreshingly down to earth story. Harry and Oliver's characterizations rang very true, as well as the other main characters. The scenes when Harry and Oliver were reacquainted and got together were vivid and delightfully awkward. Kudos for writing such an uncluttered, sexy story that has all sorts of possibilities for a continuation- or several!

This is such an endearing story- I loved the pacing of it, and Ron's earnestness and how he finally acknowledges the person he wants to be with. I can imagine Ron delves into his new role as Harry's lover with abandon!

What a gorgeous, heart-warming, sensual, erotic and again, heart-warming story. The details in it are great; Harry must be the most thoughtful person on the planet, and Ron certainly the luckiest to be involved with him. I loved reading Ron's exploration with the new toy and book, and the chocolate willie is classic. Add in Harry's charming and slightly soppy letter and scorching coming-home sex- and you have this: a thoroughly satisfying read, on every level. Thank you!

I was intrigued by this pairing and the time for the setting, and feel you did a great job keeping them both in character. Very effective, and as one who doesn't mind ambiguity, I like both that we never know who Remus is seeing, neither are we certain what will happen if/when Remus and Draco are together again. Nicely done!

Hey there- I treated myself to this marvelous series over on your LJ last night; in fact, I think I got to read one that follows this prompt and hasn't been posted here yet! I'm totally smitted by this series, and not just because I have such a fondness for George. Your take on these two with George's initial timidity and Lee's forthrightness seemed absolutely spot on, but it was a brief interchange in this particular vignette that just rang like a bell in how true it was: that optimistic, naive George assumes he and Lee will be together for Christmas a year from now, and it's Lee who is somewhat taken aback by George's assumption in that regard.

Your writing style is eloquent and expressive, but it's the content and heartachingly realistic slow blooming of this relationship which prompted me to review what you've written so far. I'm so, so glad that there are many more prompts. I'm very much looking forward to where all you go with this relationship. Kudos!!

Author's Response:

I can not tell you how much your comments mean to me. I just love your writing so much and I'm beside myself that you took the time to read and comment.  It was you who helped me really see George as a character in his own right and separate from Fred.

I created this pairing as a sub-plot to my Harry/Ginny story, where I wanted to portray all the straight boys dealing with a gay brother and I ended up giving them so much thought I just had to write it.

It tickles me that you picked up on that bit about assumptions about the next Christmas. In my mind,  this George is still very traditional at heart and just sees himself and a 'one relationship forever' kind of bloke, emulating his parents, where as Lee never had anything so permanent.

Anyway, I could just go on and on about this, but your comments truly thrilled me. I'm honored. Thank you so much!

What a bleak, relentless, and memorable path down Harry's alternate choice. I do feel so much for him, though, in that in the way you've written the beginning, I don't believe that he really knew the full ramifications of the choice that he'd made... oddly enough, even though the end of this shows him just how impossible it is for him to die, I sense hope for him. Perhaps he goes mad, but perhaps he finds solace with other immortals or nearly so...

Very well-written AU. I appreciate your writing style, and how matter-of-fact this is presented, which makes it all the more unforgiving and tragic.

Author's Response:

I really don't think Harry knew what he was getting in for, either. And Dumbledore was always one to keep his cards close to his chest, and rely on Harry's fatalistic sense of nobility to Do The Right Thing (think The Forest Again, in particular).

I'm glad you see that hope is possible. It's the lowest point in his life, and I can see many, many possibilities spreading out from that last moment. Madness is very possible, maybe even probable, at least for a time. He's been half-mad since fairly early on, around the time his marriage to Ginny dissolved. But there is the hope that one day, if he recovers, he'd discover again the fragile peace he found studying in the library at Hogwarts.

I really wanted the language for this to be sparse and impartial, and the scenes fragmented. I felt it was more powerful that way, than a continuous narritive could possibly have been. When twenty years go by without warning in under five hundred words, the reader feels the jarring of the passage of time as abruptly as Harry does.
