This was gorgeous! It's so nice that you reunited them after death. I also loved the way you had Albus defeat him, and the hair ribbon was a nice touch. Well done! :)
Author's Response: OMG Thank you so much! I wondered if Albus would have been able to really destroy Gellert. Ability, yes, but desire to destroy that which he loved so much... I just couldn't see it. I think his defeat of Gellert was also a way to come to terms with his own need for forgiveness.

You make me cry. Yes. Happy ending and all. But you still make me cry.
Author's Response: Aww! I don't want to make you cry! I will now have to write you a funny story or a hot little PWP drabble. Yes, I think I must! ;)

This is such a great slice of Albus's life and love. I love the last lines, that even with as much as they had been through, it is immortality that binds them together.
There are also some amazing parallels in this to Harry and Voldemort and of Dumbledore and Tom Riddle. I especially saw it in the calm way that Albus faced Gellert in the beginnings of their 1945 struggle.
Beatifully done. It was a pleasure to read, repeatedly!!
Thank you so much for helping me shape this ficlet. I struggled greatly with it, for many reasons, the majority of that being my muse's inability to cooperate when I need her most.
I can see parallels to Snape and Lily more than I can with Harry and Voldemort simply because of the underlying message that love can be such a powerful entity it can edify or destroy you. Harry used love to defeat Voldemort who could not understand love and never experienced it. Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald, I believe, the same way, only his love kept him from destroying him. He could not detroy that which embodied the power that Dumbledore came to realize was greater than any Elder Wand or Wizarding Supremacy. Such a tragic past, he deserved happiness. He deserved a happily ever after and dammit... he deserved some Gellert action! ;)
Thank you thank you thank you for all your help with this fic! You rock my DD woolly socks! :*

Holy hell. Since DD's outing, I haven't yet read a fic that incorporated that and really drew me in like this one. Well done.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I wasn't really sure about this ficlet since it's not really a pairing I've known well enough to believe in my ability to write them, but I just had to give them a chance at happiness. Dumbledore deserved love and to think that he went to his grave eaten by the guilt of his tormented past, was too much to bear. Thank you soooo much for the great review!

Oh, Minnie, this is beautiful! I love how you captured what a young, smitten, foolish Dumbledore would have been like, and the sexual side of JRK's depiction of how his obsession with GG led to his sister's death. I can just imagine the guilt, which Harry saw when Dumbledore drank the potion in the cave. And I love Ariana's ribbon in his hair when he went to defeat him. And how he defeated Gellert with expelliarmus (!), forgiveness and love. And that they finally got to be together in the end! There is so much emotional depth to be explored with the DD/GG revelation and I'm SO looking forward to more stories like this!
Author's Response: Oh wow! I'm totally loving you right now! *mwah* I had this fanged plot bunny that would not die when I heard of Albus and his tragic lovestory. How awful must it had been for him to face the man he loved and be the one to defeat him. It's obvious that he couldn't destroy him completely, but to take that love and have it locked away, never to be re-experienced was so tragic, I had to find a way to bring them back together. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and THANK YOU for that amazing review!
